Hi Kirran, welcome to the SolSeed movement and to this wiki :-) You've made some excellent points about SolSeed being more than just located in Portland Oregon. There are already members spread throughout the United States, but you are the first from another country. I'd love to get a better sense for your interests. Truth, Beauty, and Values

Consider the concept "2", or the concept "justice". These are real things, but they don't live in the physical world. In order to understand and "take their measure" you need something akin to a mind. Electrical signals in the brain are easy physical things to measure ... the concepts they encode are not. You could model all of existence at the level of quarks, but when talking about why someone behaves the way they do it's the wrong level of abstraction. I'm not trying to say that a mind is something magical (that is not rooted in physical reality), just that it's useful to model it as something that emerges at a different level of abstraction.
