Check In

• Ben ... seen two movies recently, True Grit (different from Tangled also recently) ... both good ... Tangled is worth seeing for SolSeed reasons (centered around Sol (main character is an avatar of Sol)).
• Shelley ... Done with the wards!!! Goal this week is to rejuvenate, also work Tuesday and Wednesday on days off to catch up from working so much
• Brandon ... made a fair amount of progress on both projects for the SolSeed business, got the dryer wired up, had a memorial service for a high school/college friend ... sad
• Sequoia ... asleep ... has new shoes so he can walk outside

WWWs from last time

• Shelley ... invite her dad for the service call ... by tonight
• Shelley ... check responses to the Seed 2011 invitation ... by tonight
• Ben ... email Disney about the ShareFile etc ... by tomorrow

Seed 2011

• Activities
  • Spend half a day or more playing in the snow?
  • Service project ... probably a session to schedule when we get there, but needs some prep work

• Food
  • Shelley made a menu on the wiki
  • Shelley will need to take time off work to buy food ... Heather will probably help
  • Not worried about it

• Rituals
  • Opening/Closing Words
  • Saying what you bring (like we did on the conference calls after Seed 2009
  • Cleansing?

• Things to bring
  • Forced bulbs
  • Unconference supplies (paper, markers, tape)
  • Giveaways? (socks)
    • Shelley: This is expensive and presumptuous (tries to force group cohesion, buy their affections)
    • Brandon: But it makes it seem more real
    • Warm socks are good because the lodge prohibits wearing shoes indoors

• Goals
  • Engage people more deeply who want to be engaged
    • People come away wanting to spend more time with each other
    • Feeling united by a common purpose
  • Have good discussions and make decisions ... around community, the nonprofit/church question, learning from other groups' experience, etc, etc
  • See people commit to a weekly or semimonthly event (probably a potluck)
  • Come together around a service project

Seed Village

• Brandon feels really good about the architect that is currently out of town (Swift Architecture) ... we'll focus on them for now
• Ben is moving to a different complex soonish, will probably sign a 12-month lease
• Laura
  • No problems so far
  • 3-4 shared meals so far, but haven't hung out with her a whole lot

2011 1 Year Goals (draft)

• Village: Start construction on a backyard cottage
• Outreach: Two more contributing members
• Media: Finish the two books and maintain SpaceWiki
  • Ben: Maybe we could skip the big book?
  • Brandon: I think the big book is critical to being able to describe who we are and what we're about
• Spiritual practice: Maintain the spiritual practice (weekly service calls, in-person solstice and equinox events)
• Service: $10,000 or 200 hour contribution (or some combination) to a service project that brings life

2011 1st Quarter Goals, due 3/31/2011

• Seed 2011
  • Yellow: The event occurs on February 5-7
  • Green: Everyone who attends feels positively toward SolSeed when they leave
  • Super Green: Somebody "levels up"
• Children's book
  • Yellow: Another test copy
  • Green: Publish it
  • Super Green: Distribute it to 20 people
• SpaceWiki
  • Yellow:
    • Administer the contest through Jan. 31
    • Get search working on the SpaceWiki site
  • Green: Make a schedule of events for the year
  • Super Green: Make a content quality scale and apply it to all non-stub articles
• Seed Village
  • Yellow:
    • Meet with architect
    • Set date for Ben to move
  • Green: Complete reverse timeline from when Ben moves

    • Have as-built plans for the current Seed Village
    • Make a budget for the cottage
